ITINERARY

PLACES COVERED : Delhi - Jaipur - Pushkar - Jodhpur - Jaisalmer - Bikaner - Mandawa - Delhi

DAY 1: ARRIVE DELHI
Upon your arrival in the Indian capital city of New Delhi, you will be greeted by our representative at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. After a warm welcome, yo u will be escorted to your hotel for 2 nights stay

DAY 2: DAY IN DELHI
Today, enjoy the day discovering Delhi, pacing through the city which is as historic as modern, like 2 sides of the same coin!

Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, which includes a visit to Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India; a rikshaw ride in Chandni Chowk, 'silver street', one of the largest trading centres of India; drive past Red Fort, the place that marked the announcement of India's freedom from the British Raj; visit Raj Ghat, cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi

Later in the afternoon, discover the modern city of New Delhi, which includes a visit to Qutab Minar, a fine example of Indo-Islamic architecture and the worlds tallest minaret; Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the largest Sikh temple of Delhi, with a gold tomb, still in active worship; Photo stop at India Gate, the war memorial arch built in honour of the soldiers who died in the second world war; drive past President\'s House, Parliament House and other Government Secretariat Buildings, the most imposing features of Lutyen's Delhi

CULTURE CONNECTION: Option for Home Hosted Dinner: This evening you have the option to learn more about local lifestyle and culture of India with dinner at an Indian home. Spend time talking to your hosts and learn about their way of life. You may also opt for a unique opportunity to step inside an Indian kitchen and learn the age old art of Indian culinary delights. Your hosts will be happy to share their secret recipes and give you some handy tips about Indian cooking (at extra charge of USD 25 per person)

DAY 3: DELHI TO JAIPUR
This morning, drive to Jaipur - land of the Rajputs. Jaipur is an exuberance of colour, dance and traditional arts and crafts. Known, as the \'Pink City\', Jaipur is home to ancient forts and palaces and is one of India\'s most well planned cities.

This afternoon, visit the City Palace complex with its museums and Jantar Mantar, the ancient astronomical observatory. Also drive past Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), built in the 18th century. This palace with its innumerable windows and screened balconies was especially built for the royal women to view the city and processions from behind their purdahs.

DAY 4: DAY IN JAIPUR After breakfast, visit the Amber fort, which was built in the 16th century. An elephant ride will help you ascend to this hilltop fort (elephants are subject to availability). Alternatively, you could choose to walk or drive up to the fort.

The 'PINK CITY', of Jaipur is well known for its beautiful carpets, enamelled ornaments, precious and semi-precious stones, brassware and many other arts and crafts. Later this afternoon, visit gem and carpet weaving factories, and enjoy haggling for souvenirs in colourful bazaars of Jaipur

CULTURE CONNECTION: Option for Hot Air Balloon Flight & Village Safari: Early morning, you have the option to enjoy a hot air balloon flight over the pink city of Jaipur, giving you the opportunity to float above forts and palaces and village settlements beneath. (at supplement charge of USD 200 per person).

Option for Elephant Safari with Breakfast: Early morning, embark on a short drive to Dera Amer for a fascinating elephant safari, followed by a scrumptious breakfast at Dera Amer (at supplement charge of USD 100 per person).

DAY 5: JAIPUR TO PUSHKAR
After breakfast, embark on a drive amidst the arid Rajasthan desert towards Pushkar, a land of fairs in the heart of Rajasthan. Famous for the annual cattle and camel fair in November, Pushkar is also one of the holiest cities of India, being one of the 5 sacred dhams (pilgrimage site) for Hindu devotees.
Upon arrival in Pushkar, enjoy an afternoon at leisure.

DAY 6: PUSHKAR TO JODHPUR
This morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Pushkar, mingling with saadhu's (holy men in their orange attires), visiting the holy Pushkar Lake and the various temples in the region. The most famous is the Brahma Temple, said to be the only temple in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma.

Later, embark on a leisurely drive to Jodhpur, the blue hued city of Rajasthan. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure.

DAY 7: DAY IN JODHPUR
After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Jodhpur, visiting the imposing Mehrangarh Fort that has fine views over the city and Jaswant Thada, the white marble memorial of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Also visit the museum at Umaid Bhawan Palace.

Later this afternoon, take a jeep safari to nearby Bishnoi villages, to get a feel for the local lifestyle of Rajasthani villagers. Observe the daily lifestyle of villagers, shepherds, farmers and weavers of the region. You also get an opportunity to interact with local villagers and learn about rare desert farming

Option for Village Jeep Safari: Later this afternoon, you have the option to experience a jeep safari to the nearby villages where you get an opportunity to see the village life, local artisans such as potters and weavers at work. (at extra charge of USD 08 per person).

DAY 8: JODHPUR TO JAISALMER
After breakast, drive to Jaisalmer, further west in the Thar Desert. This desert fortress is one of Rajasthan\'s most exotic and unusual towns. En-route to Jaisalmer, make a brief stop at Pokhran, to visit the Pokhran Fort.
Enjoy an evening at leisure, exploring the colourful and bustling bazaars of Jaisalmer.

DAY 9: DAY IN JAISALMER
After breakfast, enjoy a tour of Jaisalmer, visiting the fort and the havelis (mansions) in the old city and take a leisurely walk through the winding maze of streets within the fort. Also visit the Jain Temples within the fort.

Enjoy an afternoon at leisure, followed by an evening sunset camel safari to the sand dunes of Sam along with cultural performance and dinner.

Option for a Sunset Camel Safari, Cultural Performance and Dinner: Enjoy an evening sunset camel safari to the sand dunes of Sam along with cultural performance and dinner in the deserts of Jaisalmer (at extra charge of USD 40 per person, subject to weather conditions).

Option for Sand Dunes Day Safari: We start our journey from Jaisalmer, in a 4WD driving for approx 30 Kms towards the sand dunes of Sam, and stop at the nearest point of the desert to deflate tyres. Then we proceed to the Sam Sand Dunes, where you experience the thrill of a lifetime roller coaster ride on the golden sand dunes. We stop in between to take photographs, play on the sand dunes or just admire the natural beauty of the desert followed by refreshing mineral water. We then continue our journey and proceed to the Heritage Village located in the middle of the dunes. Upon arrival at the village the following activities are available for you to choose from: Camel rides / Cart rides, Counter for soft drinks & water, Rajasthani Dresses (men & women) for photographs.

Hotel pick up @ approx 09:00; Hotel drop off @ approx 12:00 (at extra charge of USD 75 per person, subject to weather conditions).

Option for Evening Sand Dunes Safari followed by dinner and

cultural performances: Same as Sand Dunes Day Safari + Rajasthani Folk music and dance creating a fascinating performance + Sunset views from the deserts of Jaisalmer + Unlimited Hubbly Bubbly (Hooka) + A lavish buffet dinner

Hotel pick up @ approx 15:30; Hotel drop off @ approx 21:30 (at extra charge of USD 106 per person, subject to weather conditions).

DAY 10: JAISALMER TO BIKANER
After an early breakfast, embark on a drive to Bikaner, once a major trading post between Africa, West Asia and the Far East. The city is renowned for its arts and the best riding camels in the world.

Upon arrival in Bikaner, check in at your hotel and freshen up. This afternoon, enjoy a horse-cart ride to the old town where you visit many beautiful buildings and the majestic Junagarh Fort, a formidable structure encircled by a moat.

DAY 11: BIKANER TO MANDAWA
After breakfast, drive to Mandawa, a quaint village in the heart of Shekhawati region. Mandawa has some of the finest frescos and painted havelis in the region, and is a perfect place to appreciate the art of bygone era. Spend the afternoon discovering Mandawa and visiting the unique havelis of the region.

DAY 12: MANDAWA TO DELHI (DEPARTURE)
After breakfast, embark on your return drive to New Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home.
