ITINERARY

DURATION : 13 Days / 12 Nights
PLACES COVERED : Bangalore - Hassan - Mysore - Ooty - Cochin - Munnar - Periyar - Alleppey - Cochin Departure

DAY 1: ARRIVE BANGALORE
Upon your arrival in the hi-tech Indian city of Bangalore, you will be greeted by our representative at the International Airport. After a warm welcome, you will be escorted to your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 2: DAY IN BANGALORE
After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Bangalore. Visit Tipu Sultan Palace, Cubbon Park & Government buildings, Lal Bagh Gardens, Gavi Gangadhareswara cave temple and the Museum of Bangalore, one of the oldest in India.
Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 3: BANGALORE TO HASSAN (187 KMS / 04 HRS) After breakfast, drive to Hassan & check in at your hotel. Afternoon tour of Hassan includes a visit to Belur, famous for its magnificent Hoysalas Temple Complex with intricate sculptures. This is the only Hoysalas Temple still in active worship.

Also, visit Halebidu, the erstwhile capital of the Hoysalas. The Hoysaleswara Temple here is perched on a star-shaped base amidst lawns, is a sculptural extravaganza. Its walls are richly carved with an endless variety of Hindu deities, sages, stylized animals, birds and friezes depicting the life of the Hoysalas Kings. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 4: HASSAN TO MYSORE (115 KMS / 03 HRS)
After early breakfast drive to Mysore & check in at your hotel.
Afternoon enjoy a city tour of Mysore visiting the St Philomena\'s Church, Maharaja\'s Palace built in 1897, which is one of the biggest in India; Sri Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery housed in the Jag Mohan Palace, which has a collection of exquisite paintings.
Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 5: MYSORE TO OOTY (158 KMS / 05 HRS)
This morning embark on a leisurely drive to Ooty.
Upon arrival in Ooty, check in at your hotel and freshen up. This afternoon enjoy a tea factory tour and learn the secrets to a perfect brew. Rest of the evening is at leisure to relax and unwind in the serenity of Ooty. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 6: DAY IN OOTY
After breakfast day at leisure for you to explore and enjoy Ooty, one of the most tranquil hill resorts of South India.You could visit the Botanical garden, Ooty Lake & Dodabetta Peak. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 7: OOTY TO KOCHI (281 KMS / 07 HRS)
This morning, drive to Kochi, the commercial capital and the most cosmopolitan city of Kerala. Kochi, also known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea, has one of the finest natural harbours in the world and is an important spice trading centre. Starting from the Dutch, Portuguese and the British, Kochi was the site of the first European colonial settlements in India.Upon arrival, check into your hotel for 2 nights stay.Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 8: DAY IN KOCHI
After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Kochi, visiting the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Fort Cochin, St. Francis Church and Chinese fishing nets. A highlight is watching the fishermen working the nets as the sun sets.

In the evening, watch a spectacular Kathakali performance. Kathakali is one of the oldest theatre forms in India. It is a spectacular combination of drama, dance, music and ritual. Characters with vividly painted faces and elaborate costumes re-enact stories from the Hindu epics of Mahabharata and the Ramayana. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 9: KOCHI TO MUNNAR (135 KMS / 03 HRS)
This morning, embark on your drive to Munnar, one of the most popular hill resorts of south India. British rulers called Munnar 'Switzerland of India\' for its natural surroundings and cool climate. The entire area is occupied by thick forests and tea estates. The specialty of Munnar is jungle honey, tea and a rare flower 'Neela Kurunji' which blooms once in a 12 years.

Upon arrival check in to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 10: DAY IN MUNNAR
After breakfast, visit the Tata Tea Museum learning about the cultivation and processing of a variety of Indian teas. Afternoon is at leisure for independent activities. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 11: MUNNAR TO PERIYAR (160 KMS / 04 HRS)
This morning, embark on a scenic drive to Periyar, the wildlife and spice plantation hub of Kerala. Upon arrival in Periyar, check in to your hotel and freshen up.
Rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities.
Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 12: DAY IN PERIYAR
Spend the morning, exploring the Periyar Wildlife sanctuary, one of the finest elephant reserves of south India. Enjoy boating on the serene Periyar Lake, in the heart of the sanctuary.

This afternoon, enjoy a spice plantation tour and learn about the mystery and history of Indian spices. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 13: PERIYAR TO ALLEPPEY JETTY (HOUSEBOAT) - (155 KMS / 03 HRS)
After breakfast, embark on your drive to Alleppey to board your houseboat to cruise through the backwaters of Kerala. Overnight stay at houseboat. Day 14: Alleppey to Kochi (Depart) (63 Kms / 01 Hrs & 30 Min) This morning, enjoy breakfast on board. Alight your houseboat at Alleppey and embark on a drive to Kochi airport to catch your flight for back home.
