ITINERARY

DURATION : 16 Days / 15 Nights
PLACES COVERED : Delhi - Agra - Jaipur - Ajmer / Pushkar - Rohet - Manvar - Jaisalmer - Bikaner - Mandawa - Delhi

DAY 01: ARRIVE DELHI
Arrive at Delhi's International Airport, where our representative, who will give a traditional Indian welcome with garlands and later escort you to the hotel, will meet you upon arrival. Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY 02: SIGHTSEEING IN DELHI
Today you will spend the day discovering the vibrant city of Old and New Delhi. Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, which includes a visit to Jama Masjid (one of the largest mosques in India), Raj Ghat (cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi). Also, drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk (Silver Street), the epicenter of Old Delhi.

Afternoon sightseeing tour of New Delhi includes a visit to Qutab Minar (built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak in 1199), Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, and India Gate (War Memorial Arch) Also, drive past President's House, Parliament House and other Government Secretariat Buildings.

DAY 03: DRIVE DELHI - AGRA EN ROUTE SIKANDRA
This morning, drive to Agra, land of the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. En-route stop at Sikandra, the tomb of mughal emperor Akbar. Sikandra, located 10 kms from Agra on the Agra-Delhi road, is the mausoleum of Mughal Emperor Akbar. Construction started by Akbar himself and was completed by his son Jahangir in 1613 AD. The tomb is a splendid example of the combination of Hindu & Muslim architecture & represents Akbar's philosophy & secular outlook.
Enjoy an afternoon at leisure.

DAY 04: SIGHTSEEING IN AGRA
After breakfast, enjoy sightseeing of Agra beginning with The Agra Fort, lying across the River Yamuna built in red sandstone with magnificent palaces, halls of public and private audience and beautiful gardens. This is where Emperor Shahjahan was kept under house arrest by his third son Aurangzeb and spent the last year of his life viewing the Taj Mahal from the little octagonal tower in the Fort.

This afternoon, visit the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world - a poem in white marble, and a fine example of the fusion of many architectural styles. Built in 1652 by Emperor Shahjahan, it took almost 22 years to build it by 20,000 skilled artisans who inlaid the white marble edifice with precious and semi precious stones.
We will remain at the Taj Mahal to enjoy its' awesome beauty at sunset.

DAY 05: DRIVE AGRA - JAIPUR EN ROUTE FATEHPUR SIKRI
After breakfast, drive to Jaipur, one of the most well planned cities of India. This capital city of Rajasthan, popularly known as the 'Pink City', was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, in 1727 A.D. En route to Jaipur, make a brief stop to visit Fatehpur Sikri, the red sandstone Mughal palatial complex. Within the complex lies a mosque built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar and dedicated to Sheikh Salim Chisti, a Muslim Sufi Saint who blessed Emperor Akbar with a son.

Enjoy a heritage walk in the old city of Jaipur, seeing life along the small alleys and by-lanes. Interact with the local artisans enamelling jewels with local 'meenakari' work, along with goldsmiths and silversmiths of the region. Visit gems, jewels and carpet weaving factories - watch artisans creating unique masterpieces and enjoy haggling for souvenirs in colourful bazaars of Jaipur.

DAY 06: SIGHTSEEING IN JAIPUR
After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Amber Fort. Here, enjoy an Elephant Ride to reach the top of the Fort. Once the capital of royals, the fort is a superb example of Rajput architecture, a complex of palaces, temples, exquisite marble and mirror-inlaid halls and apartments.

This afternoon, visit the City Palace complex with its museums and Jantar Mantar, the ancient astronomical observatory, and the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), built in the 18th century. This palace with its innumerable windows and screened balconies was especially built for the royal women to view the city and processions from behind their purdahs.

DAY 07: DRIVE JAIPUR - PUSHKAR
Feel the spiritual charm of your Taj Mahal and Desert Camp Tour, with a visit to Ajmer and Pushkar. Morning drive to Pushkar, en-route making a brief stop at Ajmer to visit the famous Dargah of Sufi saint Khawaja Moin-ud-din Chisti. The shrine of Ajmer is one of most important pilgrimage sights of India with thousands of believers flooding this small town to visit the shrine.

Continue drive to Pushkar, the site of India's largest annual camel fair held in November every year. Situated in the heart of Rajasthan, Pushkar is also one of the holiest cities of India. Check in at your tent resort and enjoy an evening at leisure.

DAY 08: SIGHTSEEING IN PUSHKAR
Feel the holiness of your Taj Mahal and Desert Camp Tour, with a sightseeing tour of Pushkar. Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Pushkar, mingling with saadhu's (holy men in their orange attires), visiting the holy Pushkar Lake and the various temples in the region. The most famous is the Brahma Temple, said to be the only temple in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma. Enjoy a camel safari followed by dinner along with Rajasthani folk performance.

DAY 09: DRIVE PUSHKAR - ROHET
Drive to Wilderness Camp, tented accommodation in the sand dunes of Thar Desert. Proceed to the second desert camp stop on your Taj Mahal and Desert Camp Tour, visiting Wilderness Camp, a luxurious tented accommodation located in the peaceful Thar desert of Rajasthan

DAY 10: DRIVE ROHET - MANVAR EN ROUTE JODHPUR
Drive to Manvar, an oasis in the desert. Experience the magnificence of your Taj Mahal and Desert Camp Tour, discovering Jodhpur, home to one of the largest forts of India, the Mehrangarh Fort. Then drive to Manvar, a small village amid the sand dunes of Rajasthan.

Enjoy a city tour of Jodhpur, visiting The majestic Mehrangarh Fort that has fine views over the city. Jaswant Thada, the white marble memorial of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. The fascinating museum at Umaid Bhawan Palace.

Drive to Manvar, tented Camps. Manvar Camps are aesthetically built luxury camps amidst the sand dunes of Rajasthan, facilitated with all the modern amenities while preserving the natural desert environment of the dunes.
Upon arrival, check in at your camp resort and enjoy an evening at leisure.

DAY 11: SIGHTSEEING IN MANVAR
Have a fun filled day in your Taj Mahal and Desert Camp Tour, by enjoying the different activities at the Manvar Camps. Enjoy a jeep safari to the nearby villages, to get a feel for the local lifestyle of Rajasthani villagers, who are famous for their cultural lifestyle and their love for nature and animals. You get an opportunity to observe the village lifestyle and interact with villagers, shepherds, farmers and weavers of the region.
Enjoy a night of traditional folk dance and music complete with filling local Rajasthani meal

DAY 12: DRIVE MANVAR - JAISALMER
After breakfast drive to Jaisalmer,the sand dunes paradise, popularly called 'the golden city' of Rajasthan. Proceed further west on your Taj Mahal and Desert Camp Tour, to visit the golden city of Jaisalmer.
Evening at leisure in your desert camp.

DAY 13: SIGHTSEEING IN JAISALMER
Experience the nomadic lifestyle in the sand dunes of Jaisalmer, on your Taj Mahal and Desert Camp Tour Enjoya sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer, visiting Jaisalmer Fort, the second oldest fort of Rajasthan, luxurious and splendid havelis (mansions) in the old city and exquisitely sculptured Jain Temples, which also house an emerald icon of Mahavira.

Enjoy a sunset camel safari to the sand dunes of Sam, followed by dinner with traditional cultural performance

DAY 14: DRIVE JAISALMER - BIKANER
Explore the arid deserts of India on your Taj Mahal and Desert Camp Tour, visiting Bikaner, the camel city of India, renowned for best riding camels in the world. After breakfast drive to Bikaner and check in at your hotel and freshen up.

DAY 15: DRIVE BIKANER - MANDAWA
After breakfast drive to Mandawa, the open air art gallery of Rajasthan where you will experience the rural Rajasthan in your Tour, visiting Mandawa, a small town famous for its ornate havelis Mandawa is a quaint village in the heart of Shekhawati region.

The village of Mandawa has preserved some of the finest examples of frescos and painted havelis in the region

DAY 16: DRIVE MANDAWA - DELHI / DEPART DELHI
After breakfast proceed for a leisurely drive to Delhi International Airport, to catch your flight back home and bid a goodbye to India.
