Golden Triangle India
Golden Triangle Tours of North India offer a great feast for visitor's eye. Golden Triangle of North India is the saga of royal magnificence and statement of power. Golden Triangle Tours include a trip to Delhi, the capital of India and centuries old centre of struggle for throne and crown and scepter of power. The massive forts and modern palaces and courts of democratic
Parliament along with architectural legacies of the past make Delhi a beloved tourist attraction. Agra is of course the City of Taj, which like its name is a crown of all the architectural wonders of India. Every beautiful monument is compared to Taj and Taj itself can only be compared to an imaginary scenario from 'Paradise' itself.

DURATION :8 Days / 7 Nights
PLACES COVERED :Delhi - Jaipur - Agra - Delhi

Arrive at Delhi's International Airport, where our representative, who will give a traditional Indian welcome with garlands and later escort you to the hotel, will meet you upon arrival.

Today you will spend the day discovering the vibrant city of Old and New Delhi. Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, which includes a visit to Jama Masjid (one of the largest mosques in India), Raj Ghat (cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi). Also, drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk (Silver Street), the epicenter of Old Delhi

Afternoon sightseeing tour of New Delhi includes a visit to Qutab Minar (built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak in 1199), Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, and India Gate (War Memorial Arch). Also, drive past President's House, Parliament House and other Government Secretariat Buildings.

After breakfast, drive to Jaipur - the land of the Rajputs. It is here that the seekers of India experience their fantasy of the land of Maharajas. Jaipur is an exuberance of color, dance and festivities and a haven for traditional arts and crafts. Known, as the 'Pink City', it is one of India's most well planned cities with wide straight avenues, roads, streets and lanes in a perfectly designed grid system.

Enjoy a heritage walk in the old city of Jaipur, seeing life along the small alleys and by-lanes. Interact with the local artisans enamelling jewels with local 'meenakari' work, along with goldsmiths and silversmiths of the region. Visit gems, jewels and carpet weaving factories - watch artisans creating unique masterpieces and enjoy haggling for souvenirs in colourful bazaars of Jaipur.

After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Amber Fort. Here, enjoy an Elephant Ride to reach the top of the Fort. Once the capital of royals, the fort is a superb example of Rajput architecture, a complex of palaces, temples, exquisite marble and mirror-inlaid halls and apartments.

This afternoon, visit the City Palace complex with its museums and Jantar Mantar, the ancient astronomical observatory, and the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), built in the 18th century. This palace with its innumerable windows and screened balconies was especially built for the royal women to view the city and processions from behind their purdahs.

After breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Agra enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri. Agra, the ancient city of Agrabana, was once the seat of the Mughal rulers, whose passion for building endowed it with some of the loveliest buildings in the world.

En-route to Agra, make a brief stop at Fatehpur Sikri - a masterpiece of Muslim architecture, unique in India. Built in red sandstone in honour of Saint Salim Chisti who foretold the birth of 3 sons to Emperor Akbar, this city is an example of robust stability combined with originality. Each important edifice here represents a type by itself. Notable among them is the Diwan-e-Khas (Hall of Private Audience), Panch Mahal (Five Storied Palace), the Tomb of Saint Salim Chisti, and the Buland Darwaza (Great Gateway).

Continue drive to Agra. Arrive Agra city and check-in into your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.

After breakfast, enjoy sightseeing of Agra beginning with The Agra Fort, lying across the River Yamuna built in red sandstone with magnificent palaces, halls of public and private audience and beautiful gardens. This is where Emperor Shahjahan was kept under house arrest by his third son Aurangzeb and spent the last year of his life viewing the Taj Mahal from the little octagonal tower in the Fort.

This afternoon, visit the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world - a poem in white marble, and a fine example of the fusion of many architectural styles. Built in 1652 by Emperor Shahjahan, it took almost 22 years to build it by 20,000 skilled artisans who inlaid the white marble edifice with precious and semi precious stones.
We will remain at the Taj Mahal to enjoy its' awesome beauty at sunset.

Sikandra, located 10 kms from Agra on the Agra-Delhi road, is the mausoleum of Mughal Emperor Akbar. Construction started by Akbar himself and was completed by his son Jahangir in 1613 AD. The tomb is a splendid example of the combination of Hindu & Muslim architecture & represents Akbar's philosophy & secular outlook.
Arrive Delhi & check in at hotel. Enjoy an evening at leisure.

After breakfast transfer to International airport to board the flight for back home.
