ITINERARY

DURATION :14 Days / 13 Nights
PLACES COVERED :Delhi - Jaipur - Ranthambore - Agra - Orchha / Khajuraho - Bandhavgarh - Kanha - Nagpur / Mumbai

DAY 1: ARRIVE DELHI
Arrive at Delhi's International Airport, where our representative, who will give a traditional Indian welcome with garlands and later escort you to the hotel, will meet you upon arrival.

DAY 2: SIGHTSEEING IN DELHI
Today you will spend the day discovering the vibrant city of Old and New Delhi. Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, which includes a visit to Jama Masjid (one of the largest mosques in India) Raj Ghat (cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi). Also, drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk (Silver Street), the epicenter of Old Delhi.

Afternoon sightseeing tour of New Delhi includes a visit to Qutab Minar (built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak in 1199), Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, and India Gate (War Memorial Arch). Also, drive past President's House, Parliament House and other Government Secretariat Buildings.

DAY 3: DRIVE DELHI - JAIPUR
After an early breakfast, embark on a leisurely drive to Jaipur - land of the Rajputs. Jaipur is an exuberance of colour, dance and traditional arts and crafts. Known, as the 'Pink City', Jaipur is home to ancient forts and palaces and is one of India's most well planned cities.

This afternoon, visit the City Palace complex with its museums and Jantar Mantar, the ancient astronomical observatory, and the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), built in the 18th century. This palace with its innumerable windows and screened balconies was especially built for the royal women to view the city and processions from behind their purdahs.

DAY 4: DRIVE JAIPUR - RANTHAMBORE
After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Amber Fort. Here, enjoy an Elephant Ride to reach the top of the Fort. Once the capital of royals, the fort is a superb example of Rajput architecture, a complex of palaces, temples, exquisite marble and mirror-inlaid halls and apartments.

Then, embark on your journey to Ranthambore, acclaimed as one of the best places in the world to photograph tigers in the wild. Arrive at your lodge in Ranthambore this evening for your orientation talk about the park and its wildlife by the lodge staff.

DAY 5: RANTHAMBORE GAME VIEWING
Toady you will embark on Game View Jeep Safari into the Ranthambore National Park. A jeep safari is the best way to observe wildlife within National Park Ranthambore. Jeeps with groups of tourists, accompanied by a trained naturalist are allowed into the park at fixed times during the morning and evening.

Rise early for a sunrise canter safari to the wildlife park. With the morning dew still settled on trees, take your chance to spot the wildlife stretching out in the dense jungles of Ranthambore

Ranthambhore National Park: Sprawling over an undulating terrain of Aravali and Vindhyan ranges, in the heart of Rajasthan, is the wilderness of Ranthambore National Park, one of the finest Tiger Reserves of India. Formerly the hunting grounds of the Maharaja of Jaipur, it was declared a National Park in 1972. Dry deciduous forests, lakes, meadows, mountains and forts combine to create a park of great beauty, which still has a healthy population of tigers. In this beautiful setting you can also see leopards, hyena, deer, sloth bear, wild boar and jungle cat.

Enjoy an afternoon canter safari to the wildlife park, your second chance for a face to face encounter with the majestic Indian tigers.

DAY 6: DRIVE RANTHAMBORE - AGRA
After breakfast, embark on a leisurely drive to Agra, city of the world famous Taj Mahal. En-route to Agra, you will make a brief stop to visit Fatehpur Sikri, the capital city of the Mughal Empire in the 16th century.
Upon arrival in Agra, check in at your hotel for 2 nights stay. Enjoy an evening at leisure in Agra.

DAY 7: SIGHTSEEING IN AGRA
This morning, experience the awe-inspiring beauty of the eternal symbol of love, with a sunrise view of Taj Mahal. Often referred to as a poem in white marble, Taj Mahal displays the saga of love between Emperor Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Also visit the Agra fort, which is built in red sandstone and has magnificent palaces, halls of public and private audience and beautiful gardens.

Later, visit marble inlay workshops and indulge in exquisite shopping in the culture and tradition filled city of Agra.

This evening, you have the option to watch a fantastic show "Mohabbat the Taj - The saga of love", staging the largest replica of the Taj Mahal, and presenting the Taj in its various shades and seasons.

DAY 8: TRAIN AGRA TO JHANSI / DRIVE JHANSI - KHAJURAHO VIA ORCHHA
This morning, board an express train to Jhansi. Upon arrival in Jhansi, drive to Orchha, a medieval riverside town known for its palaces and temples. Apart from the famous landmarks like Jahangir Mahal and Laxmi Narayan Temple, the town is peppered with fascinating little shrines and memorials. Enjoy an afternoon tour of Orchha.

After lunch at Orchha, continue your drive to Khajuraho - A UNESCO world heritage site in central India, known for its erotic sculptured temples. Upon arrival in Khajuraho, check in at your hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 9: DRIVE KHAJURAHO - BANDHAVGARH
This morning, visit the enchanting temples of Khajuraho with sculptures that draw their inspiration from the ancient art of Kama sutra. Khajuraho Temples were built by the Chandela kings between 950 AD and 1050 AD.

This afternoon, embark on your drive to the jungles of Bandhavgarh. Upon arrival in Bandhavgarh, check in at your hotel for 2 nights stay.

DAY 10: SAFARI IN BANDAVGARH
Set amongst the Vindhya mountain range, Bandhavgarh is a small national park, but with the highest known density of tiger population in India. This is also known as White Tiger territory.

Today enjoy morning and afternoon jeep safari (accompanied by trained naturalist) into the wildlife park. Rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax in the sounds and senses of the neighboring wildlife.

DAY 11: DRIVE BANDAVGARH - KANHA
After breakfast, embark on a leisurely drive to Kanha. Kanha National Park spreads over 1,945 sq. km of dense Sal forests, interspersed with extensive meadows and trees and clumps of wild bamboo. Kanha is best known as the natural habitat of the Tiger.
Upon arrival at Kanha, check in at your hotel for 2 nights stay.

DAY 12: SAFARI IN KANHA
Kanha national park was the backdrop of Rudyard Kipling's 'Jungle Book'. Today enjoy morning and afternoon jeep safari (accompanied by trained naturalist) into the wildlife park. Rest of the day is at leisure for you to relax in the sounds and senses of the neighboring wildlife.

DAY 13: DRIVE KANHA - NAGPUR/ FLY NAGPUR - MUMBAI
Enjoy a morning at leisure in Kanha. Later, embark on your drive to Nagpur airport, to board your evening flight to Mumbai, the fast paced commercial and celluloid capital of India. Upon arrival in Mumbai, you will be greeted by our representative at the airport and escorted to your hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 14: DAY IN MUMBAI (DEPARTURE)
After breakfast, enjoy a morning city tour of Mumbai visiting the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India, Gandhi museum and the bustling Dhobi Ghats, where you will see hundreds of men and their families engaged in the family business of washing clothes.

Later you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home.
